IT Training and Certifications Overview
IT Training programs in the Information Technology
and Management are designed to provide you with a solid knowledge of
the IT field and to qualify you for industry-standard certification
exams from organizations such as CompTIA; Microsoft; Sun; Oracle; the
Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals; the Linux
Professional Institute; Macromedia; Cisco; the System Administration,
Networking and Security (SANS) Institute and more.
Courses
Cco CCNA Network Design and Troubleshooting
The Cisco Networking program help students learn to
design, build, and maintain computer networks. Networking topics that
students learn include the various types of networks, various types of
networking products, the differecences on how they work, how to design
and troubleshoot networks, network security, and other. At first
students work on basic network design, components, network topologies,
and basic IP addressing (including subnet masks). Lab work includes
making and testing network cables, using line testers, building two to
five computer networks, and using various network diagnostic tools.
This training is useful to prepare for CompTIA’s
Network+ certification. Network+ is a merchant neutral certification
that measures the technical knowledge of networking professionals with
18 - 24 months experience in the IT industry.
PC Hardware & Software
Students learn to install and troubleshoot PC
hardware and software. This course covers PC components and assembling
a computer, OS basics, multimedia, printers, network basics, PC
maintenance, and troubleshooting hardware and software.
Through coursework and hands on experience, including
assembling and configuration computers, students obtain the necessary
skills and knowledge to pass the A+ Certification offered by CompTIA.
The A+ certifies the competency of entry-level (6 months experience)
computer service technicians.
Network Administration (Microsoft or Novell).
Students learn how to install, maintain, and oversee
the operation of a Microsoft Windows based computer network, including
common services and security. You can take a course work leading to
industry certification (MCP/MCSE) for Windows 2000 and 2003 and a
industry certification (CNA/CNE) for Netware.
These IT training programs are also available in your region. You
can chech if in your city exists an authorized testing center at which
you can take the industry certification exams. The cost of each exam is
about $100-$150, but in some colleges exam financial assistance is
available. Often students that achieve and maintains sufficiently high
grades throughout the course receive a discount voucher up to 50% or in
some cases for the entire price of the exam.
