What is the DMV Road Test?
They will be looking to see if you always use your signal when you
are making turns or lane changing. They will see how well you have
control of the vehicle and if you can take off smoothly without making
the vehicle jerk. You will be graded on how smoothly you apply the
brake and come to a stop. Slamming on the brake at the last minute will
get points taken off. They will check to make sure you do not have a
problem using your signals, lights or wipers while driving when you
need them. The proper hand position when steering is also very
important and something they will check for.
You will also be graded on how well you can merge in and out of
traffic and if you follow the speed limits correctly. They will see how
well you judge distances and obey traffic signs. You will be required
to know how to back your vehicle and how to parallel park and do
regular parking. Another important thing the examiner will be looking
for is how you interact with other drivers. It is important that you
are courteous at all times. When the test is over they will add up your
score and let you know whether or not you passed your DMV road test.
This test is just another way to help make the highways a safer place
for all drivers.
