Who was the Buddha?

June 26th, 2007

Buddhawas a psychologist and a teacher; he was not god. He thought hmself more of a doctor, discpensing the medicine of insight-insight into our human problems. Buddhaalso taught us how to transcend those problems. Beginning with his own experience of enlightenment or awakening, he created a system of thought - the Buddhist tradition - that provides helpful, practical answers to typical human situations we face in our work lives today. Buddhismis, above all, useful. It is not about pie in the sky; it is about here and now. It is not about theory; it is about practice. It is not just about thinking; it is a way about being and doing.

Buddha strove to alleviate suffering and find happiness. Who does not want to? Buddha struggled with life just as we do today, and he discovered the keys to living.
